Course description:

This workshop will focus on understanding how to support students with special learning needs, and sharing practical techniques to help extend participants’ ability to effectively manage them.

People who attend the workshop will be able to:

·         Describe the behaviours of students on the Autistic Spectrum

·         Use a range of strategies for providing learning support for students with special needs

Course description:

This is a practical, hands-on session that will enable Teacher Aides to further develop their understanding of their role in supporting teachers and students, use practical effective strategies to manage small groups and individuals and respond to students from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds.

Target audience: Primary

Teacher Aides (Year 1-8) and SENCOs

Objectives:

 

People who attend the workshop will be able to:

·         Understand the role of the Teacher Aide

·         Use teaching and learning strategies effectively with individuals and small groups

·         Respond in a culturally responsive manner

Charge:

Workshop:  $90 for a 2 hour session. 

 

Participants to bring:

Paper and writing materials for note taking
