Strand knowledge is part of NZC Mathematics. It provides depth of understanding and a context in which to use knowledge and strategies about number. At this workshop we focus on geometry, measurement and statistics and how to include them in your mathematics programme. Teacher Aides and SENCOs: Supporting English Language Learners

 
Are you working with students who are learning English as a second language? Not sure about how to really engage them? This workshop will explore practical ways to support English Language Learners and to understand the importance of oral language as a foundation for fluency in speaking, reading and writing English. We will also focus on what it means to come from a different cultural background and how awareness of this can assist us in our work with these students.
