Intake 48: 15 May 2018 – 31 August 2018

Theme: Agriculture and Trade

In May, 32 government officials from Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam arrived to start their four and a hlf-month stay in New Zealand.  They are pictured here at Victoria University during their three-day orientation before setting out for Nelson and Napier for Part One of their course at EIT and NMIT.

The current theme for their study programme is Agriculture and Trade.

 

 

Intake 47: 23 January 2018 – 16 June 2018

Theme: Good Governance

In January, 63 government officials from Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Mongolia, Myanmar, Timor-Leste and Vietnam, arrived to start their five-month stay in New Zealand. They are pictured here at Victoria University during their three-day orientation before setting out for Nelson and Napier for Part One of their course at EIT and NMIT.
The current theme for their study programme is Governance. Themes for previous groups have included Disaster Risk management, Agriculture, Security, Trade, Sustainable Economic Development, Governance and Education. The ELTO programme is funded by the New Zealand Aid Programme within the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. 

During their stay here, the officials study an intensive English language course, visit workplaces, and stay in New Zealand homes, ensuring that they experience the Kiwi way of life as well as learn about government matters.

 

 

Intake 46: 18 July 2017 – 9 December 2017

Theme: Education

Sixty government officials arrived in New Zealand in July from Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Mongolia, Myanmar, Timor-Leste and Vietnam. They are in New Zealand to study on the English Language Training for Officials (ELTO) programme. They are pictured on the campus of Victoria University where they spent the first three days getting oriented before going to NMIT in Nelson and EIT in Napier for the first two months of the programme.

Theme: Renewable Energy

The theme for their study programme was Renewable Energy.
