On the rockThe English language Training for Officials Programme (ELTO), part of New Zealand’s overseas development assistance programme, began in 1992. Since then over 1200 government officials from Cambodia, Lao PDR, Indonesia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Timor Leste and Vietnam have studied on the ELTO English language programme in New Zealand as well as 160 from French and Portuguese-speaking Africa. Many ELTO alumni have subsequently been sent on diplomatic postings, serving their countries throughout the world.

Accent Learning no longer has an interactive section for the Alumni on this website. Many past and present ELTO officials use Facebook or Linkedin to communicate with each other. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade New Zealand will invite ELTO Alumni to social events in the ELTO countries from time to time. Alumni are also welcome to contact Accent Learning using the contact details on this site.
