Victoria University Vice-Chancellors attend ELTO Alumni event in Hanoi

Victoria University of Wellington (VUW) alumni and friends enjoyed a simple yet meaningful reception at the Ambassador’s Residence on 29 September. On this occasion, VUW Vice-Chancellor Professor Pat Walsh and Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Rob Rabel met with some 30 alumni and friends and updated them on the recent achievements of students and academic staff at VUW.

In his remarks, Professor Pat Walsh emphasised that maintaining strong links with alumni is of great importance to an internationalised university like VUW. VUW also looks to further develop its partnerships with Vietnamese institutions, including the Business Studies Programme at the Vietnam National Economics University and the Academy of Finance in Hanoi.

Ambassador Heather Riddell thanked members of the VUW alumni and friends for their continued support extended to both the university and the New Zealand Embassy over previous years. She encouraged alumni to stay in touch closely with the New Zealand Embassy as well as VUW, as “those who are VUW alumni are also part of the wider New Zealand community”.
