Friendship between four countries

ELTO in NZ: “Friendship and good memories will be with us forever.”
ELTO in NZ: “Friendship and good memories will be with us forever.”
Orlaphim VONGCHANDY, an official from the Protocol department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lao PDR comments on her time in New Zealand.

I am very glad and lucky to study here in New Zealand in order to improve my English. The New Zealand government provides an English training English course for government officials from four developing countries: Cambodia, Laos, Mongolia and Vietnam.

The ELTO programme is my first experience studying English in such a wonderful and well known country with an education system like New Zealand. I have had a lot of experiences and gained a lot of knowledge here. During the time in New Zealand I also have made a lot of friends who are from different work places and countries. We share our hopes to improve our English and have success in this programme together. Even though we are from different nationalities, we get along with each other very well. In addition, in terms of learning English we can learn and share information with each other. What is more, not just learning English but we also share our work experiences as well as general information among our friends and we learn and share our culture, traditions, customs and food together.

I found that I have had a wonderful time in New Zealand, happy experiences with my friends who are from diverse countries as Cambodia, Vietnam and Mongolia and my friends from my home country. We been together for five months so we have become close friends and now share good memories. We can ask for help, share our happiness as well as our sadness with each other. I think everyone in ELTO intake 29 is very friendly and I am so lucky to be their friends and I think the friendship and good memories between us won’t go away, they will be with us forever.
