ELTOs after an e-day's work!!

ELTO officials did their bit for sustainable development by volunteering with 1000s of Kiwis on eDay in September 2009.

This annual event is an easy way for households and schools to dispose of old computers and mobile phones in an environmentally sustainable manner.

They simply drive to the drop-off point and willing volunteers unload their car and sort their contributions which are then sent overseas for recycling.

“We gathered at the Westpac Stadium carpark where the event was held on a rainy and cold day, and were divided into four groups: traffic directors, refreshment servers, and two picking up groups. All of us were happy and ready in our new roles. It was a fantastic day for environmental conservation,” said Luu Van Ba from Vietnam.
