In 2010 advisors will work with school leaders to use research and evidence from the BES series and readings and information from the new HSP website to help schools to develop their own HSP model for their targeted migrant and refugee community groups.

ESOL professional development (PD) for secondary schools in 2010 has a focus on:
  • ESOL professional learning support for leaders and teachers. 
  • Gathering longitudinal student data for the development of English Language Learning Progressions (ELLP) learning profiles.
  • ESOL Home-school partnerships for migrant and refugee families
Advisors working in this area support both mainstream and specialist ESOL teachers to meet the language learning needs of English language learners.
